Ewan Morton: Building A Team That Helps Build Your Business

Show Notes

Starting his real estate career in the mid 1980s, Ewan spent the majority of his early days working in Hong Kong, London and Singapore. An entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to return to Australian shores brought Ewan back to Sydney where he and his father, real estate industry veteran Mark Morton, decided to combine their talents and experience to establish Morton & Morton in 1996.

Ewan is always looking for opportunities to expand and improve the service offered by Morton & Morton. In 2013, he introduced an employee share scheme to ensure the business was best placed to attract and motivate key staff and incentivise future performance.

Ewan leads with an open-door management style, a mark of his honesty that is valued by staff. His enthusiasm and energy motivates and inspires staff, and it shows in the company’s high retention rate and Ewan being named REB’s Industry Thought Leader Of The Year in 2013 and 2014.

And by asking one simple question — How likely is it that you would recommend [your company] to a friend or colleague? — you can track these groups and get a clear measure of your company’s performance through your customers’ eyes.
