Applying the very same principles to real estate as he did with farming, Michael Kies became a master at prospecting! Listen in as Michael shares how he went from zero sales in seven weeks to selling 19 properties in a month. Learn about the life-changing seminar he attended in 1987 and why it was the best investment he made in his real estate career to become one of the best in the industry.
Michael is a firm believer in dedication and commitment to finding one good listing a day simply by talking to people. He also gives advice on becoming the best price-reduction expert and implementing “new tools for old rules” in social media marketing.
Who has been an inspiration to you throughout your career?
“Tom Hopkins – I would not have succeeded in real estate if I didn’t attend that seminar in 1987.”
What are your favourite things in the world to do when you’re not at the office?
“Reading, especially biographies. Now reading one on Gen. Robert E. Lee.”
What is your favourite technology resource you use daily to help you run a better business?
“Youtube for training videos.”
What is ‘one thing’ that prevents people in real estate from achieving success and what would your advice be to overcome it?
“Not having courage and not taking action. So, get some good information, get some good skill but take action on it and work like crazy. Also, use the 5-2-1 Plan: get five good listing appointments per week, just list 2 properties per week and make one sale.”
“It’s just gonna take a little longer.”
When a vendor is unhappy with an offer and you have to go back to the purchaser and they say no, just think that this is just gonna take a little longer and find a way to get the purchaser up.”
