Kylie Davis, head of real estate solutions at CoreLogic, joins Real Estate Pros this week to discuss how to earn more clients and sell more properties using data. Kylie shares with us her background in media, publishing and real estate.

As head of real estate solutions, Kylie is responsible for business development, strategy and innovation for the $45m real estate vertical at CoreLogic, Australia’s largest property data company.

Kylie joined CoreLogic in 2014 after nearly four years as network editor of real estate at News Corp Australia. There she created and led the national desk of 52 real estate reporters across 120 titles, training them in delivering quality data journalism, video and digital deliveries. Kylie has a 25-year career in media as a senior editor and entrepreneur across News and Fairfax, and at 25 was the founder and publisher of hyper-local newspaper The Village Voice.

More recently, Kylie headed the delivery of the Perceptions of Real Estate Agents report.

Market research company Roy Morgan has been polling Australians about the trustworthiness of different professions since 1975. Real estate agents have always polled poorly – in its 2015 Image of Professions* only 9% of those surveyed rated them as “very high” or “high” ethics and honesty. Only advertising people and car salesmen score worse.

The 2015 Perceptions of Real Estate survey wanted to test this stereotype by going directly to people who had experience of agents and their performance.

The key finding was that the majority of vendors reported positive experiences with their agents, with 31% rating the experience as Excellent and 35% rating it as Good. 34% said the service had underwhelmed and even angered them.

The survey also highlighted the behaviours that made vendors satisfied, and that were easy for agents to deliver.
