Starting a real estate business is not for the faint hearted. It takes a special kind of person to want the responsibilities that come with being a business owner, especially in real estate. You need to be courageous and, above all, fearless. It’s something Alicia Williams embodies at the age of 29.
Alicia started her real estate career in sales with a franchise group but it was her belief that people list with the person, not the brand, that led her to opening Locations Estate Agents. Alicia believes that being an independent relationship-focused agency allows for a more personable approach and only 12 months after opening the doors, Locations Estate Agents was awarded Gladstone’s Best In Business Award 2014 for the category of real estate, which Alicia describes as a reward for all of the hard work the team has done.

What is ‘one thing’ that prevents people in real estate from achieving success and what would your advice be to overcome it?
“It would be to just do it. So many real estate people, including me, are just thinking about something too much and procrastinating. Real estate is not that hard. It’s just your brain that tricks you into thinking it’s that hard so just do it.”
