Instagram Video Ads Go Live

After much speculation, Instagram, owned by Facebook, have launched video ads on their platform.

Starting with brands Disney, Activision, Lancome and Banana Republic, 15 second video ads will start rolling out on the network over the coming weeks. Instagram has grown fast in popularity with now 1.6m active Australian users.

“Our aim is to make any advertisements you see feel as natural to Instagram as the photos and videos many of you already enjoy from your favourite brands.”

According to AdWeek, there are fairly limited options being made available early on for brands in relation to targeting. Advertising on Instagram is not currently available for small brands at this stage.
